Smoking advice and support

We offer Smoking Cessation Appointments with our Health Care Assistants or Practice Nurses at this Surgery.

They will give you accurate information and advice on how to quit, and give you professional support during the first few weeks after you have stopped smoking. They also make it easy and affordable for you to get stop smoking treatment, such as Champix (varenicline) or Zyban (bupropion) if it’s suitable for you or nicotine replacement therapy such as patches and gum.

They can also can refer you to specialist advisors to stop smoking where you will normally be offered a one-to-one appointment with an adviser, but many areas also offer group and drop-in services as well.

If you would like to get support, please book an appointment online to see one of our Health Care Assistants or our Practice Nurses.

For more information, please visit NHS Choices.

If you do not smoke, please call us so that we can update our records.

Please be aware that due to important computer upgrades we will be unable to access our booking system and patient records at the Stratford site of Carpenters Practice on Thursday afternoon. This means we will be unable to book appointments or look up patient information whilst the maintenance is being carried out and will have a reduced capacity to see patients at this location.

Carpenters Practice – Church Road and Carpenters Practice – St Luke’s will be open and operating as normal. Extra clinicians will be available at these sites to ensure patients can still be seen.

Please make your request by phone or by the Dr IQ app, or visit either Church Road or St Luke’s in person, and we will be able to assist you as usual.

We apologise for any inconvenience.
